I’ve come to love March – spring is well and truly on its way & it feels as if there lots to look forward to.
Plus – and I hardly dare say it – I think it is possibly THE BEST month of all for walking and exploring here. It’s very quiet, the days are that much longer again and the weather – well, it can do anything at all but when it’s good, it’s very good.
This year the walking weather was stunning so of course, in the name of R & D, we made the most of it. See attached – these were taken near Ullswater – half an hour’s drive from here – just vintage Lake District walking, as it should be. Hardly saw a soul on the hills all day. I can’t recommend that area highly enough.
Busy in the greenhouse, potting on earlier planted seeds and sewing lots more.
April is the first month when the days are both longer and warmer – meaning hours spent outside in the garden. Weather permitting and it has this year, planting out hardier plants and the first tulips have been fabulous too. Sunny and warm enough to do a proper outside Easter egg hunt too.
