The accommodation at Briar Rigg House is more akin to that of an upmarket boutique hotel in the heart of London’s West End than a Bed & Breakfast in the English Lake District.

Guests have the exclusive use of their own large and comfortable sitting room with stunning views across the garden towards the fells. This attractive room is bright and airy during the summer months; while the wood-burning stove ensures a warm and cosy atmosphere no matter how inclement the Cumbrian weather may be during the winter.

It is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or to relax and unwind after a day on the fells. The room has a television with Sky satellite channels, Sky Sports, DVD player, CD player and Wi-Fi Internet. Guests also have access to a range of contemporary guidebooks and maps of the local area, which they are welcome to use during their stay.

The spacious bedroom, situated on the first floor is well appointed, boasting a king-size bed, fitted wardrobe and sofa. Fiona’s high standards and attention to detail are reflected in the use of the finest quality organic bed linen, luxurious organic towels and dressing gowns.

A selection of complimentary teas, coffee and homemade biscuits can be found in a small cabinet nestled on a side table by the window. The bedroom also contains a digital radio for guests’ use.

The bathroom, with shower has stunning views across fields to Latrigg, and is furnished with selected bath products from the nearby award-winning Sedbergh Soap Company. These are extremely popular with guests, and available to buy should anyone wish.
